So August is over, and apparently so is the heatwave in the UK. So I thought it would be a good time to get into my monthly favourites as we move away from summer and into autumn.
Favourite piece of clothing?
As we transition into the slightly cooler months, I’ve been reaching for this dress time and time again. The Aubrey dress is 100% cotton so is insanely comfortable to wear, flattering for an hourglass shape and is a good length for work as well as for weekend wear. The addition of pockets is also a thumbs up from me.
This particular dress is sold out online, but there are other versions on the Fat Face website.
As one of my two Louis Vuitton bags, I’ve been reaching pretty consistently for my Neverfull over the last few months. The shape and size make it perfect for work, and I can toss everything inside (like folders, books, my laptop and daily necessities) and I have yet had to worry that it’s reaching full capacity. In the future, I plan to buy a preloved GM in the Monogram canvas, but at the moment, I’m loving my Damier Ebene.
Favourite beauty product?
I’m only a week into using this routine, but I can already sense it’s going to be a favourite. I’m horrific when it comes to skincare, as I’m just very lazy when it comes to finding something that I can stick to and that won’t irritate my skin. However, I’ve heard great stuff about this regime so when I’m a few months in, I’m sure I’ll post a review!
Favourite TV show?
Sharp Objects – Available on Now TV
I’m not the biggest TV watcher, but when I do, it’s usually a series. And when I heard they were going to do an adaptation of one of my favourite novels, I was beyond excited. Adapted from the novel by Gone Girl’s author Gillian Flynn, Sharp Object follows a collection of grisly murders in the town of Wind Gap, and how the small town community reacts to these. When the series is over, I’ll be posting a full review of it, but at the moment… GOD IT’S JUST SO GOOD. If you liked Big Little Lies, then just watch Sharp Objects.
Bridge of Clay by Markus Zusak.
I’m very VERY fortunate that I’m able to get some books as ARC’s. So when I received the highly anticipated Markus Zusak Bridge of Clay book to read and review, I dived into it with the same gusto that I gave his The Book Thief. 100% no spoilers here, but rest assured that a review is coming!
Bridge of Clay is out October 2018.
Favourite August memory?
Meeting Carrie Hope Fletcher was probably my number 1 August memory at her book signing in my local Waterstones. I’ve watched her for nearly 7 years, and seen her in a few West End/touring productions, so it was so cool to finally meet and speak to her (although I definitely embarrassed myself!)
That memory, and passing my driving test!
